Who are we?
During and since the financial crisis in 2007, Bowjangles grew and gained a great reputation as the UK’s leading gold buyer from the public. We were the first on the UK high street to offer bullion prices to its customers.
With integrity and honesty we have built a loyal customer base and now presently operate from a newly refurbished store in Wednesbury Town Centre in the West Midlands, no longer operating in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
Along with the purchase of scrap gold and silver, we now proudly offer the following services; selling of quality new and second hand gold and diamond jewellery and watches, jewellery repairs and a Bureau de Change.

Meet Aaron
How long have you been here? What made you into the business?
I started as a youngster helping my Dad in his shop in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. Gaining a natural feel for business early on, after school I went to Sheffield Hallam University and did a Business & Finance Degree. By then, my Dad was in a different industry but he still had a lease on a small shop called Bowjangles in Wednesbury in the West Midlands that he ran seasonally. As he didn’t use it much, during my holiday times I started to open the shop to see if we could get any business going. Bowjangles built from there and when I finished university, whist looking for work, I started to make contacts in the Jewellery Quarter. With only a limited budget I worked hard to develop the suppliers’ trust, whereby they loaned jewellery to me. This then allowed me to start building Bowjangles up to the success it is today.
What are your hopes for Wednesbury in the future?
My hopes for Wednesbury are investment in its buildings. I hope that the local Council will take advantage of the town’s long history with many of its original beautiful buildings still there but in need of renovation. Wednesbury is also an ideal location being only a mile away from one of the busiest retail parks at Junction 9 of the M6. With the right advertising, I think Wednesbury could be turned into traditional market town where people would come for a more personalised experience that is friendly. They need to invest in buildings and help companies to set up. I believe it could become a great success.

We have now grown to become one of the largest precious metal dealers in the U.K., Bowjangles Director, Aaron Sheldon, studied Business and Finance at Sheffield Hallam University and started the company with a Graduate Loan with the intention of being a Jeweller. After a year of very little trade and travelling up and down the country to markets and fairs, Aaron started to advertise to buy gold from the public around the Black Country area. After a few months, the credit crunch started to hit the headlines and Bowjangles was well positioned to offer its services during this poor economic climate offering the public honest and fair buying prices which were and are always pre advertised. This was unlike the common practice of large companies nationally and globally who started to mass advertise for unwanted gold and silver with the intention of profiteering from the poor economic climate at the expense of the British public by undervaluing their gold and silver.
